Patrick Chan
Hello dear readers. Our names are Sara, Sherry, Rena and Lin. We're going to be talking about the fantastic PATRICK CHAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Patrick Chan is a Canadian figure skater who was born on December 31, 1990. This talented young figure skater is also the 2010-2011 Grand Prix Champion!! Patrick was born in Ottawa, Ontario to Lewis Chan and Karen Chan, Chinese immigrants from Hong Kong. His Cantonese name is Chan Wai-Kuan. He moved to Toronto when he started skating at the age of 5.
He originally wanted to learn to skate so he could play hockey, but soon became interested in figure skating. Osburne Colson, a figure skater, was his coach. In 2001, he won the bronze medal at the Canadian Junior National Championships ain the juvenile level at the age of ten. He also advanced to win the pre-novice Canadian national title in 2003, the novice title in 2004, and also the junior title in 2005.
In 2009, Patrick Chan graduated from a French-language school called École Secondaire Étienne-Brûlé, a school in North York, Toronto. Now, he plans to go to Colorado College and study international economics. To make time for training, he is going to take one course at a time.
Patrick can speak many languages including English, French, Cantonese and a little bit of Mandarin. He has one many awards like Sportsnet's 2011 Canadian Athlete of the Year and the Lou Marsh Trophy, an award given annually to Canada's best athletes. He is the World champion for 2011 & 2012 , a two-time (2010 & 2011) Grand Prix Final champion, a two-time (2009 & 2012) Four Continents champion and a five-time (2008–2012) Canadian champion.

After winning CBC Sports athlete of the year for 2011, he said:"It's a great honour for me to win the CBC Sports Athlete of the year for 2011. It's been an amazing 2011 season with a world championship, three world records and a repeat at the Grand Prix Final"
Although he didn't win in this competition, you can see that Patrick
Chan is a great skater. Why? Well just look at all the techniques hes uses!
As we all can see, Patrick was a very succesful and industrious figure skater that had competed hard in the championships against so many well experienced contestants.
